On Sunday, two people died and five were injured after a tree fell on them near Metro Cinema at MG Road in South Mumbai's Marine Lines area. The heavy downpour has resulted in water-logging in some parts of the city due to which train services have been hit. The Indian Meteorological Department has said that heavy to very heavy rains were expected to continue.

As per details by IMD Mumbai Director Ajay Kumar, Mumbai has received 231.4 mm rain in the last 24 hours. So much rainfall is categorised as extremely heavy showers.
