Mumbai Police Earns Rs 32 crore approximately through IPL bandobast
Mumbai police has earned Rs 32 crore approximately for giving bandobast to IPL matches, which were held at Mumbai's Wankhede Wankhede between 2008 and 2018.
Mumbai, June 4: The Mumbai police has always been applauded for its hard work. The Indian Premier League(IPL) has brought some cheer to the Mumbai police, as its hard work pays-off. According to news reports, the Mumbai police has earned Rs 32 crore approximately for giving security(bandobast) to IPL matches, which were held at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium between 2008 to 2018.
The IPL matches ended recently after the MS Dhoni led-Chennai Super Kings achieved the victory title of IPL season 2018.
Moreover, the police also earned a whopping additional Rs 39.7 crore from bandobast duty for football league matches played in the city and marathons during the same period. Activist Jeetendra Ghadge was provided with the information after an RTI query, the report further mentioned.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is yet to clear the pending dues of Rs 13.4 crore for the 2016 world cricket tournament held.
