Mumbai, April 25: A 38-year-old woman, on Tuesday, was arrested by the police, for allegedly pushing a man on to the railway tracks. The unfortunate incident took place at Mulund Railway Station, in Mumbai. The person who was pushed on the tracks lost his life after being run over the speeding train that was arriving at the platform at that time.
The victim was identified as Deepak Cham Lal Patwa. He was a resident of Mulund and dealt in trading of iron parts. Watch a Woman Push a Man onto the Railway Tracks in Mumbai:
As per a Railway Police official, “Manisha Khakadiya was identified from CCTV images at the station and was placed under arrest. She has told police that the deceased, Deepak Patwa, touched her on the overbridge at the station."
The entire incident was captured by the CCTV cameras installed on the station. The police official also stated that the woman has alleged the deceased person to be following her on the foot-over bridge.
The police official said, “We have registered a case against the accused under section 302 (murder) of the IPC. A hunt is on for the other person involved in the incident. Further investigations are underway."
There have been incidents in the past where heated arguments and unruly behaviour have resulted in death while commuting in a Mumbai local train. And if you are a resident of Mumbai, there are high chances that you come across one such altercation daily. However, this incident went a little ahead than it would have meant to be.
