Today lakhs of train commuters were left stranded on Central Railway, as students protested between Dadar and Matunga stations, holding the locals till Kurla station. According to reports from PTI, entire four lines are affected between Matunga and CSMT. These protesting students are demanding jobs from the government as there has been no recruitment since the last four years.
Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST) is running special busses in order to help the passengers stranded at Kurla, Matunga and other stations on account of the Rail Roko. According to reports, passengers are permitted to travel via Western, Harbour and Trans Harbour Line on the same ticket and passes till further notice. Western Railway (WR) has tweeted that services on WR lines and WR Mumbai suburban services are running normal.

The protest termed 'Rail Roko' is being held by All India Act Apprenticeship Association between Dadar and Matunga on central line in Mumbai. The protesters are demanding one time settlement and removal of 20 percent quota permanently. There are reports that Mumbai Metro services are also running on time, but it is over crowded. There is huge traffic on the roads as well.
