Mumbai Court Acquits Doctor Booked Under POCSO of Raping Minor Girl in His Clinic

A special court in Mumbai acquitted a doctor who was booked under POCSO on the charges of raping a minor girl in 2014 at his clinic. He was also acquitted of other charges, which includes taking obscene pictures of the patient and then threatening her.

Mumbai, July 15: A special Court in Mumbai acquitted a doctor accused of raping a minor when she came to his clinic complaining stomach upset in 2014. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the doctor was further freed of charges levelled against him of clicking obscene pictures of his patient and also threatening to circulate them online. The doctor was booked under several sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The doctor managed to produce documents showing that the mother-daughter duo has filed similar cases before a sessions court and that they were 'habitual complainants'. There was no medical evidence or call logs to support that the doctor and the patient were talking to each other at the time of the alleged crime.

In an incident reported earlier this month, a 27-year-old model has filed a complaint against a female celebrity doctor for allegedly taking videos of her and later threatening her. The woman who went for a hair removal procedure was being attended by three therapists, and when she was naked, she noticed the hidden cameras, which looked liked smoke detectors. She took photos of it and left the clinic. On the very same night, she got a call from the doctor, who made threatening statements.
