New Delhi, February 5: President Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the Mughal Gardens of the Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The beautiful iconic garden will open to the public from tomorrow. The gardens which are a host of varieties of colourful flowers will be open from 9:30 AM and 4.00 PM. The public can visit the Spiritual Garden, Herbal Garden, Bonsai Garden and Musical Garden here. The annual gardening festival, Udyanotsav will see tulips, Asiatic lilies, daffodils, hyacinth and other seasonal flowers.
The star attraction for this festival, however, is the 10,000 tulip bulbs in eight colours, brought from the Netherlands. These tulips will see the full bloom by the end of February. So you can see the flowering bed in colours of red, white, and yellow mixed with red, pink and purple. Along with tulips, there are a variety of roses, bulbous flowering plants, and several other exotic flowers. In total there are 70 varieties of seasonal flowers apart from 135 different types of roses. So for a true nature lover, the Mughal Gardens are going to be no less than heaven.
These gardens will not just give a display of the exotic flowers but also point out the skills of the gardeners here. Each of the gardens within will have some special feature which you can observe like the spiritual garden has lotus pond with cascading waterfalls. Given the number of people that will swarm in to enjoy this beauty, from March 9 onwards, the gardens will unlock for a special group of people. Farmers, differently-abled persons, defense forces and Delhi Police workforce can visit the gardens from March 9. The Entry and exit will be from Gate No. 35 of the President’s Estate.
