Moshe Holtzberg Arrives in Mumbai a Decade After Parents' Death In 26/11 Terror Attacks
Baby Moshe’s plan to visit Mumbai comes two years earlier following an open invitation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Israel last year.
Mumbai, January 16: Moshe Holtzberg (Baby Moshe) who survived the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008 arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday morning. Baby Moshe's visit to India comes a decade after his parents were shot dead by terrorists on November 26, 2008. The Isreali kid, who survived the deadly Mumbai terror attack is now 11- years old. He had plans to travel to Mumbai when he turns 13. Reports state that his plan of visiting Mumbai when 13 comes two years earlier following an open invitation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Israel last year.
During his visit, Moshe is accompanied by nanny Sandra Samuel. According to a report by TOI, over 100 Israeli and Indian security personnel are deployed alongside Mumbai police for Moshe’s visit. The kid is scheduled to visit the nondescript five-storey grey building. Reports further inform that all shops along the entire Colaba stretch will remain shut on Tuesday. As per reports by NDTV, he will be at the Chabad House on Thursday, when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opens a memorial for his parents and all other victims’ of 26/11 attacks.
To recall, gunmen had stormed Nariman House and held six Israelis hostage on the night of November 26. Among those who died in the 48-hour siege were Moshe's parents- Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and a pregnant Rivka. Moshe, then was two days short of turning two. Sandra Samuel, his Indian nanny found him next to his dead parents. She picked him up and ran out with him to safety as terrorists took control of the Chabad House during the attacks. After the attacks, he was taken to Israel and now stays with his maternal grandparents at Afula.
