Missing PHD Student Atreyee Majumdar Found in Bengaluru!

Ms Majumdar is an alumna of the prestigious National Law School in Bengaluru and at Yale. She has been in Toronto for her post-doctoral research.

Mumbai, April 11: According to reports, after an extensive search, 35-year-old anthropologist, Atreyee Majumdar, who was missing from Bengaluru for nearly a week, has been found. Apparently, her friends and colleagues had launched a massive search, with the help of social media and Google spreadsheet. She was reportedly found in hotel Taj Vivanta on MG Road in Bengaluru on Wednesday morning.

According to a report on NewsMinute, Atreyee went missing on 4 April, the day she arrived in Bengaluru from Toronto, and was located again on 11 April. She is currently pursuing a post doctoral fellowship in Toronto. Similar incident happened, before she landed in Mumbai recently, she was not responding to calls from her parents. When she finally got back a day later, she said she had arrived in New Delhi. It was then, that her father asked her to fly to Bengaluru immediately.

Police has found out security footage of her at two hotels, after she left home. She left her phone behind and only took her passport and handbag, along with some cash. Ms Majumdar is an alumna of the prestigious National Law School in Bengaluru and at Yale. She has been in Toronto for her post-doctoral research.
