Thiruvananthapuram, April 21: The dead body recovered on Friday evening from Thiruvananthapuram's Thiruvallam has been identified as that of 33-year-old Liga Skromane. Liga was a Latavian citizen and was missing since March 14 from an Ayurveda resort in Kerala. She was found dead on the banks of river Karamana.

Liga was undergoing an ayurvedic treatment for traumatic depression. The 33-year-old went missing from the resort and was last seen near Kovalam beach. According to the complaint lodged by Liga's sister Ilze Skromane, Liga left the resort at 8:30 am, she took an auto to Kovalam and was last seen around 11.30 am. Ilze has reached the spot on Saturday and identified her from the clothes she wore. Andrew Jordan, Liga’s husband has also reached India.

The body was mutilated with parts of limbs and skull missing. However, the police refused to comment any further on the cause of death. According to a report published in The Times of India, City police commissioner P Prakash said, “Such deformities can even occur due to decomposition. A team of doctors including forensic surgeons will be conducting the post-mortem examination. Only after that can we know more about the nature of the injuries.”

Liga had arrived in Thiruvananthapuram along with her sister to undergo an Ayurveda Therapy at an Ayurveda healing centre at Pothencode. Liga was suffering from severe depression because of a personal trauma. Her family refused to disclose the reason of her depression. Both Ilze and Liga’s husband Andre Jordan joined the search operations.
