New Delhi, February 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed his monthly radio show Mann ki Baat at 11 AM. Today’s edition is the  41st edition of the Mann Ki Baat programme. The Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter to ask people to share their views, ideas, and suggestions.  He began his address begins with a phone call from Meerut where the caller asks for words of advice for the youth to develop scientific temperament.

The Prime Minister appreciated the heroes who work in relief & rescue operations across the country. He said BIMSTEC countries came together to do a join disaster management exercise. The radio address is being broadcasted on All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan and also on the Narendra Modi mobile application. Also, the show is also streamed on the YouTube channels of the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and DD News. Akashwani will also broadcast the programme in regional languages immediately after the Hindi broadcast. Users can also hear the Prime Minister’s address on their mobile phones by giving a missed call on 1922.

Key Highlights of PM Modi's 41st radio address:

  1. During his address, the Prime Minister said that India has a legacy of great scientists. 'Technology and artificial intelligence must be used towards ensuring welfare of poor and underprivileged', PM Modi added.
  2. On National Science Day, the Prime Minister congratulated all our scientists and all those who work in science:. Modi said Science and Technology is value neutral. Technology must be used only for welfare of humankind.
  3. The Prime Minister lauded heroes who work in relief and rescue operations across the country. 'National Disaster Management Authority  is leading the effort towards disaster management', says PM Modi
  4. We must become a risk-conscious society and understand values of safety. Staying alert and vigilant will help prevent accidents: Modi

  6. The Prime Minister said that Gobar Dhan Yojana' will be beneficial in rural areas and help in keeping villages clean, animals disease-free and increase productivity. "I request you to become a part of the revolution of clean energy and green jobs. Turn waste into wealth in your villages, turn ‘gobar’ into ‘gobar-dhan’”, PM Modi added.
  7. "We hear of music festivals, food festivals & film festivals but in a unique move Chhattisgarh celebrated 'Trash Mahotsav'. the objective behind it was to utilise waste creatively & to spread awareness about ways to reuse garbage", says PM Modi.
  8. The Prime Minister also spoke about the current budget where emphasis has been laid on turning ‘waste to wealth’ and ‘waste to energy’ through Bio, under the Swachch Bharat Campaign.
  9. Modi says society is moving from women development to women-led development. The Prime Minister says, “Today, in every sphere of life, it is our duty to ensure the equal participation of women.”
  10. Ahead of Women’s Day on March 8, the Prime Minister recalled the words of Swami Vivekananda which said, ‘the idea of perfect womanhood is perfect independence”. While concluding his radio address, PM Modi wished the country ahead of Holi on March 2.

As PM Modi tweeted asking people’s “ideas and inputs” for Mann Ki Baat, Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted suggesting that the Prime Minister speaks on the Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud involving diamond jeweler Nirav Modi and the alleged Rs 58,000 Cr Rafale deal scam.

During his last address, PM Modi lauded the women achievers and the unsung heroes who were conferred the Padma awards this year. Remembering astronaut Kalpana Chawla ahead of her death anniversary on February 1, the Prime Minister said she gave a valuable message to all Indians, especially young girls.  "...Her message is, 'Nothing is impossible for women if they have a strong will'," Modi said  the 40th edition of Mann Ki Baat.

On Padma Award winners, PM Modi said that the selection process for picking award winners has been transformed under his government, asserting that more significance has now been given to the nominee's work than name. He also highlighted works of some winners during his address. In his last address, PM Modi also appreciated ‘Mission Clean Morna River’, and congratulated people for making it a ‘mass movement’.
