Just a day before, a similar fire mishap was reported in Goregoan in one of the commercial complexes on Sunday evening. The devastating fire claimed four people's lives. According to news reports the fire had swept through the seventh and eighth floors of the Techniplex Complex-One building in Goregaon. The deceased is said to be contractual labourers who had been deployed by a firm called Pratham Enterprises, said a police official.
The fire of Malad has also affected the traffic movement on the adjoining SV road and other roads creating traffic congestion. As the fire occurred near Malad railway station which has many wooden furniture shops nearby, there is the danger of the fire spreading further, therefore the fire brigade jawans have stepped in.
