Mumbai, March 24: In another unfortunate incident, a major fire broke out in a warehouse in Swaroop Nagar in north-west Delhi, on Saturday noon. The fire-incident began from the plastic waste that was lying in the background of the warehouse.
The fire break-out saw fire-tenders being rushed to the spot as the fire hadn’t doused for a long time. The Fire department officials received the information around 4 pm, after which over 20 fire tenders were sent on the spot.
As the fire was not able to come under control, the people in the nearby areas were evacuated to safer places for their safety. The initial probe in the incident suggested that a short circuit in the electrical wires would have caused the spark. It would have then spread to the plastic, rubber, and other waste items kept nearby.
However, the fire department officials were able to put off the fire after a period of 3-long-hours. Luckily, there were no casualties reported in the incident. The cooling operations were still underway when the reports last came in. More details about the same are awaited.
