New Delhi, April 9: The much-awaited polls to elect the next government at the Centre will begin on April 11. A total of 91 constituencies will witness a high-stake electoral battle on Thursday, when the phase 1 of Lok Sabha elections 2019 will be held. If the electorate is unsure whether their name is included in the electoral roll, here's how to check the voter slip.

Voters from all parts of India can check their names online by logging onto nvsp.in. On the left hand side of the portal's landing page, one could find the tab reading "search your name". On the website, the user has two options to check his name in the voter slip -- either using the EPIC number, or by entering your name, age, assembly segment and other details. After filling the same, click on search button located on right hand side of the page.

If your name is included in the electoral roll, the voter ID would be displayed in the subsequent webpage. Users can download the same which could be used for verification at the polling booth, along with another verification ID viz. Aadhaar, licence or PAN.

The phase-I election features a poll battle in 91 constituencies, spread across 18 states and 2 union territories. The maximum are being contested from Andhra Pradesh (25), followed by Telangana (17), Uttar Pradesh (8) and Maharashtra (7), among others.
