Boxer Amit Panghal wins Silver Medal in Men's 46-49kg Final bout, earlier in the day Mary Kom won Gold in her Commonwealth Games debut.

In the major development  today US President Donald Trump announced airstrikes in retaliation for Syria's alleged use of chemical weapons. Syrian air defences responded to the joint strikes by the United States, France and UK.  The Syrian state TV called the attacks a "blatant violation of international law and shows contempt for international legitimacy." Trump said in his statement that the three allies had launched military strikes to punish Syrian President Bashar Assad for the alleged chemical weapons use and to prevent him from doing it again.

At Commonwealth Games the day started with the good news of Marry Kom winning the Gold medal in Women’s 45-48kg category after beating Kristina O’Hara in the finals. With this medal the Indian contingent has won 18 Gold medals in total and is currently on the third spot of the latest Medal Standings.
