List of Long-Distance Trains on Central Railway Rescheduled Today: Students' Rail Roko Protest Delays Rail Services

Mumbai, 20 March: On account of the students' protest taking place on Central Railway between Dadar and Matunga stations, services of not only the local, but other long-distance trains on the Central Line have been disrupted. According to reports, around 30 trains have been cancelled due to the protests. Central Railway have recently tweeted to inform the public about a list of long distance trains that have been rescheduled today.

11301 CSMT-KSR Bengaluru Udyan Exp (sch 0810 hrs) at 1015 hrs
12534 CSMT-Lucknow Pushpak Exp (sch 0825 hrs) at 1030 hrs
11029 CSMT-Kolhapur Koyna Exp (sch 0840 hrs) at 1045 hrs
Central Railway has further informed through a tweet that services have resumed from 10:35am between Matunga and CSTM.
These protesting students are demanding jobs from the government as there has been no recruitment since the last four years. Reports also highlights that the protests went violent as they threw stones at the local trains. Police apparently used batons as students refused to budge, holding up placards and shouting slogans demanding jobs in the railways, one of the largest public sector employers in India.
Earlier in the day, Western Railway tweeted that services on their line are running properly and it is not affected with the protests. BEST is running special buses to help passengers who have been stranded at Kurla and Matunga stations.
