Mumbai, May 09: Justice Arun Mishra, who has been on the receiving end of the controversies that he is being involved in recently, has lambasted advocates, who he believes have been involved in targeting the Supreme Court judges of late. Justice Mishra was of the view that lawyers were targeting Apex Court judges, both, on TV debates and within the court premises, are eventually ‘killing the institution’.

Venturing out his angst against the lawyers Justice Arun Mishra said that no one is being spared. He said, “You are attacking all... targeting all. With one arrow, you want to kill everyone. They discuss court proceedings on TV. We are abused like anything.”

Justice Arun Mishra was quite apprehensive of the debates that took place on TV recently. He warned by saying, “You are killing this institution every day. Lawyers will survive only if this institution survives.”

Justice Mishra saw himself being dragged in two controversies earlier this year. Firstly, when the top four senior judges had held a press conference in January and speak against the improper distribution of sensitive and critical cases to junior judges.

In another instance, Justice Mishra had broken down at an informal meeting in front of fellow brother judges, seeing his collateral damage in the conflict between apex courts collegium members.
