Indian music scene has a new feat to its credit. Punjabi song Laung Laachi's music video has become the first one from India to cross 1 billion YouTube views. Yes, the song that released in February 2018 has been viewed over 1 billion times on YouTube. The song has been crooned by Mannat Noor and composed by Aman Jay. The music video from the film Laung Laachi features Ammy Virk and Neeru Bajwa. The song has been remade in Bollywood for the movie, Luka Chupi, earlier this year. "Laung Lachi" has over 2.9 million likes.

At the moment, "Despacito" holds the record for the most viewed music video on YouTube with 6.57 billion views. The second most-viewed music video from India is "Mile Ho Tum" by Neha Kakkar. Technically, very technically, there have been music videos that earned 1 billion views before "Laung Laachi". For instance there are "Johny Johny Yes Papa" and "Old MacDonald Had A Farm" with more than 1 billion views. But these are poems for children made into  videos, which is why they have been excluded here.

Fans have been trying hard for the past couple of week for "Laung Laachi" to cross 1 billion views. Under the comments section, you can find people saying that they have been viewing the song everyday to make it cross 1 billion.

"Mile Ho Tum" by Neha Kakkar or "High Rated Gabru" by Guru Randhawa could be the next music video to cross the 1 billion views mark on YouTube.
