Kolkata Roadside Eatery Owner Shot Dead by Customer for Asking Him to Clear Pending Biryani Payment of Rs 190
The accused denied to pay the bill amount claiming that the eatery owner was over-charging for the biryani
Kolkata, June 4: In a shocking incident, a roadside eatery owner in Bhatpara, Kolkata, was shot dead by a customer. According to reports, Sanjay Mandal, 40-year-old, was allegedly shot dead by Mohammed Firoz because he asked him to clear the earlier pending bill.
Firoz has been arrested by the police while three others who accompanied him during the incident are on the run. Deputy Commissioner of Barrackpore police, K Kannan, was quoted as saying, "We have arrested Firoz. He shot Sanjoy Mandal at the restaurant on Sunday evening. There were three more persons with him. We hope to catch them too."
According to reports, a brawl between the eatery owner and customer broke out when the deceased asked the accused to clear their dues worth Rs 190 for another biryani that they had parcelled a few days ago. Followed by the heated argument, Firoz pulled out his pistol and in anger fired twice at Mandal. The deceased was left in a pool of blood.
The accused refused to pay the bill amount claiming that he (eatery owner) was over-charging for the biryani, the report stated.
