Kathua Murder: Boy Stabbed To Death While Protecting Friend From Getting Attacked

Police has suspended Internet services in the area to prevent escalation of tension after residents took out a procession to protest against the alleged murder.

Kathua, May 3: An 18-year-old was stabbed to death when he tried to save his friend from his attackers in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. According to reports, after being stabbed in public, he was shifted to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries. Three accused have been arrested, and two of the arrested have been identified as Abhishek Sharma and Honey.

Abid owed Rs 500 to Abhishek Sharma — the two went to the same college as Liaquat Ali, who was killed in the attack. Abid and Abhishek were both friends, but their relationship strained when Abid failed to repay the Rs 500.

After the murder, residents took out a procession to the house of Honey, who is also the brother-in-law of Abhishek Sharma. Stones were pelted, and window panes were broken. CRPF and police personnel had to be deployed to look into the situation so that the matter comes under control. According to an Indian Express report, Police has suspended Internet services in the area to prevent escalation of tension after residents took out a procession to protest against the alleged murder.
