Karnataka Elections 2018 Opinion Poll Results: Jan Ki Baat-Republic Survey Predicts Hung Assembly, BJP to Emerge Single Largest

The recent opinion poll released by C-Fore had predicted a full majority for the Congress, claiming that the party would win between 122-126 seats.

New Delhi, May 5: The latest opinion poll released for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections predicts a hung outcome, with no party crossing the halfway mark of 112 seats. The survey conducted by Jan Ki Baat and aired by news channel Republic, predicts the BJP to emerge as the single largest party.

BJP is likely to win 104 seats with a vote share of 40 per cent, the survey said, further claiming the Congress will emerge a distant second with 74 seats and 38 per cent of the electoral share. The JD(S) of former PM H D Deve Gowda, the opinion predicted, will win 44 seats with a vote share of 20 per cent.

The recent opinion poll released by Times Now-VMR also predicted a hung assembly following the forthcoming Karnataka legislative elections. The survey said the Congress would emerge the single-largest party with 90 seats, being trailed inches behind by the BJP at 89.

The C-Fore opinion poll is only among the major pre-poll surveys so far which have predicted a full majority victory for the Congress. The survey claims the Siddaramaiah-led government would be re-elected with 122-126 seats.

The polls are scheduled to be conducted in a single-phase on May 12. The Election Commission has earmarked May 15 as the day for the counting of votes.
