Mumbai, January 16: Yug Tuli, co-owner of Mojo's Bistro pub surrendered before the Mumbai Police on Tuesday morning. Tuli, who has been evading arrest since the last two weeks in the Kamala Mills compound fire case surrendered at the N M Joshi Marg Police Station and will be produced before a court on Tuesday. “We have arrested Yug Tuli, after he surrendered himself before police today morning at N M Joshi Marg Police Station,” S Jaykumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Central) told PTI.
Tuli said, “I have come to surrender since my bail plea got rejected. I was waiting for the anticipatory bail in Amritsar”. Tulli, who is a Nagpur based businessman and his partner Yug Pathak, the son of former Pune Police Commissioner K K Pathak, were booked under sections of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. With Tuli’s arrest, all the owners of the Mojo’s Bistro and ‘1 Above’ have been arrested. Tuli was spotted at the Hyderabad airport with his wife on Sunday. As per details by Police, Tuli disappeared before the police could arrest him.
In the last week, two other owners of the restaurant, brothers Jigar Sanghvi and Kripesh Sanghvi were arrested on the information provided by a Juhu-based hotelier Vishal Kariya. Kariya was arrested the same day for sheltering the duo along with Mankar. As per ANI reports, police also recovered a high-end car of accused Mankar from the Juhu residence of Kariya.
The massive fire at the Kamala Mills compound took place on December 29, 2017. The deadly fire engulfed Mojo’s Bistro and the adjacent 1 Above pub and killed 14 people in total. As per reports by Mumbai Fire Brigade, the massive fire possibly started at Mojo’s Bistro due to the flying embers of a hookah and spread to 1 Above.
