Mumbai, January 25: In a major development, the Mumbai's Bhoiwada court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of all the five accused in connection with Kamala Mills Fire. The five accused include Yug Tuli, Yug Pathak, Abhijit Mankar, Jigar Sanghvi and Kripesh Sanghvi.  On Tuesday, a Mumbai court had sent Kamala Mills owner Ramesh Govani to police custody till January 29. Govani was arrested by Police on Monday.

Meanwhile, Mojo’s Bistro owner Yug Tuli is in judicial custody until January 31. Reports state that his bail plea was being heard with the pleas of four other accused in the case. The Mumbai Police had also filed a reply in the bail applications filed by owners of the ‘1 Above’ pub, Jigar Sanghvi, Kripesh Sanghvi and Abhijit Mankar, as well as the owners of the adjoining Mojo’s Bistro, Yug Tuli and Yug Pathak.

With Yug Tuli’s arrest earlier this month, all the owners of the Mojo’s Bistro and ‘1 Above’ were arrested. In the last week, three people were arrested in connection with the case and were produced before a Mumbai court. The ones who were arrested include Ravi Surajmal Bhandari, partner of Kamala mill, Rajendra Baban Patil, fire officer and Uttkarsh Vinod Pande, supplier and contractor. On January 15, the Bombay high court (HC) had fixed February 12 as the next date of hearing the plea filed by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Julio Ribeiro, seeking a judicial inquiry into Kamala Mills Fire incident that claimed 14 lives.
