Jammu, June 6: An unidentified flying object was spotted on the Pargwal sector of the International Border area of Akhnoor, a day after Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's warned Pakistan over its repeated ceasefire violations along the LoC. Nearly a dozen grenade attacks have taken place in the valley since Thursday.

It must be noted that India shares a 3,323-km-long border with Pakistan of which 221 km of the IB and 740 km of the LoC fall in Jammu and Kashmir. The object was seen in the same area where Pakistan opened fire in which BSF jawans were martyred.

A day after Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's warned Pakistan over its repeated ceasefire violations along the LoC, an unidentified flying object was spotted in Pargwal sector. According to a report by Republic TV, the object was spotted above the International Border area of Akhnoor. It must be noted that this is the same area where Pakistan resorted to firing, killing BSF jawans.

Militants have upped the ante over the past week in Kashmir carrying out a series of grenade attacks on security forces and politicians. Sources have told Republic TV that Pakistan is using unidentified objects and drones to spy on the Border Security Force (BSF) and civilian areas along the border.

The Centre had last month asked security forces not to launch operations in the holy month of Ramzan. In her warning, Sitharaman had said that the Army has been given the right to retaliate during ceasefire to keep the borders safe. “We honour the ceasefire but the margin was given to us when there was an unprovoked attack. It was Government of India’s decision and all of us abide by it”.  She added saying that she stands by the view of the Home Minister on Ramzan ceasefire in Kashmir.

On Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said while the unilateral ceasefire announced by the Centre is bringing great relief to the people of the state, militants were desperately trying to sabotage the process by continuing violent activities.
