Srinagar, June 11: Two policemen were killed and another injured in a terrorist attack on a check-post at a court complex in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir in wee hours of June 12. Terrorists stole the weapons of the policemen before fleeing from the spot. The policemen were identified as Ghulam Rasool and Ghulam Hassan.
A Jammu and Kashmir spokesperson said, "Terrorists opened fire at the police picket that was guarding the district court complex in Pulwama town in the early hours of the morning today.” He further added that the cops retaliated the firing and the ensuing exchange of gunfire, two cops were killed. The entire area has been cordoned off.
In a separate attack, 10 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured after a grenade attack by terrorists on their post in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. According to the Jammu and Kashmir police, the soldiers received minor injuries. The injured soldiers were admitted to a hospital.
The security forces in the Kashmir Valley are observing a Ramzan Ceasefire declared by the Centre. All the security operations in the valley have been suspended. However, after the ceasefire declared by the government, terrorist attacks have been increased. According to a report published in NDTV, till now 44 attacks have been carried out by terrorists during the month of Ramzan, out of which 20 were grenade attacks. Four security personnel were killed in last 20 days of Ramzan and 33 were injured.
