Anguished Twitter users expressed their grievances as they were unable to book their tickets.
New Delhi, May 4: Passengers booking tickets on Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website irctc.co.in on Friday faced inconvenience as it showed 'server error'. The website's servers were reportedly down on Friday morning when passengers were trying their luck to book tickets during summer rush.
The website flashed a downtime message saying, "Due To Maintenance Activity E-Ticketing Service Is Not Available. Please Try Later. For Cancellation/File Tdr, Please Call At Customer Care No. 011-39340000,011-23340000 or mail at etickets@irctc.co.in".

Anguished Twitter users expressed their grievances as they were unable to book their tickets on IRCTC. "Unable to login irctc website from last half an hour. The services or irctc website is worsening day by day. However unauthorized brokers offering guaranteed.reservations", a Twitter user stated.
Meanwhile, another Twitter user said, "IRCTC official why today server is very down. I missed my booking today. What's the issue? ".
Earlier this week, the IRCTC, the e-ticketing arm of Indian Railways had launched a new method for booking rail tickets including Tatkal tickets. In its tweets, the IRCTC stated, "Now #IRCTC e-wallet users can book #rail e-tickets including of #Tatkal quota through IRCTC Rail Connect Android App. Download now!". With the latest move, e-wallet users can now book rail e-tickets including Tatkal quota tickets through its mobile android app, IRCTC Rail Connect.
On Friday, Employment Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) suspended the service of Common Service Centre (CSC) amid reports of a data breach in Aadhaar-seeding with PF accounts. Subsequently, the website, aadhaar.epfoservices.com, used to link Aadhar with EPFO, was also shut by the department.
