As per the advisory, the roads closed for general traffic from 4 am to 10 am in the morning. The roads which were closed due to the full dress rehearsal for the 74th Independence Day celebrations, include Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, S P Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT and its Link Road. Notably, the same traffic restrictions will be imposed on August 15. According to a notification issued by Delhi Police, Nishad Raj Marg from Link Road to Netaji Subhash Marg, Esplanade Road that connects link road to Netaji Subhash Marg, Ring Road from Raj Ghat to ISBT and outer ring road from ISBT to IP Flyover, will also remain closed.
In view of coronavirus situation prevailing in the country, Delhi police have requested the invitees to follow guidelines issued by the Home Ministry and Health Ministry while attending the function at Red Fort. The Independence Day Ceremony will be celebrated on August 15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the Tricolour and address the nation from the rampart of Red Fort.
