Images on Social Media Show Benjamin Netanyahu Misspelling Gandhi as 'Ghandi', Twitter Reacts
"An inspiring visit to the hearth of one of humanity’s great prophets of inspiration – Mahatma Ghandi – Benjamin & Sara Netanyahu – Israel,” Netanyahu wrote in the visitor's diary.
Ahmedabad, Jan 17: In what appears to be a major gaffe, visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu misspelled Mahatma Gandhi as 'Ghandi' while signing the visitors' diary at the Sabarmati Ashram.
The images going viral on social media show Netanyahu write the following text: "An inspiring visit to the hearth of one of humanity’s great prophets of inspiration – Mahatma Ghandi – Benjamin & Sara Netanyahu – Israel,”
Twitter was quick to ridicule 'Bibi', as Netanyahu is popularly called, for the typo. Here are some prominent reactions:
Netanyahu on Wednesday visited the state of Gujarat, which is the third leg of his Indian tour. The Israeli PM attended the iCreate entrepreneurship summit in Ahmedabad and the Centre of Excellence for Agriculture in Gujarat's Vadrad. He was accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi throughout his visit.
Netanyahu would visit Mumbai on Thursday before concluding his six-day visit to India.
