New Delhi, June 25: An Indian Air Force (IAF) guard on Monday fainted and fell unconscious during Seychelles President Danny Faure's ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. In a gesture that calls for appreciation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who welcomed Faure, returned after the ceremony to check the guard’s health. The guard reportedly fainted due to a heat stroke.
The Prime Minister asked the guard to be careful about his health and spent a few minutes with him. As per information by Prime Minister's Office, the Prime Minister left for his official residence soon after.
The MeT department has predicted the heat to last for most parts of the week with monsoon only expected on or after June 29. While the national capital reels under scorching heat, the Seychelles President received a ceremonial welcome and a Guard of Honour at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Faure landed in Gujarat on Friday as part of his six-day India tour. This is his first bilateral visit to India. On his arrival on Saturday, Faure visited the Sabarmati Ashram and also visited the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, where he held a meeting with the Institute’s director Errol D’Souza. Reports inform that Faure’s visit comes on the heels of his government's announcement earlier this month that a joint project with India to develop a naval base at Assumption Island would not move forward.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also called on the visiting leader and discussed with him expanding bilateral cooperation in key areas, including capacity building and human resource development.
Both the nation - India and Seychelles agreed to work together on a project to develop a naval base at the Assumption Island keeping each other’s concerns in mind after talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Danny Faure.
