Hyderabad Suicide: 24-Year-Old Girl Hangs Herself While on a WhatsApp Video Call With Boyfriend
The police said that the victim’s parents have registered a complaint regarding the matter and that the probe in the same, is on.
It seems that people committing suicides on WhatsApp calls is the new fad, of late. In another fateful incident, a 24-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room in Hyderabad. The girl was reportedly on a video call with her friend when she took this fatal step. The incident happened during the early hours of Sunday (February 18).
As per the reports, the police said that B Haneesha Chowdary hanged herself in her hostel room in Kompally. The alleged suicide took place while she was on a video call with her friend Dakshit Patel.
Her friend Dakshit Patel did try to save his friend when he broke open the door and took her to the nearby hospital, while she was hanging herself. However, she was declared dead on arrival by the hospital authorities, the reports said.
The girl, B Haneesha Chowdhary, hailed from Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. She was reportedly angry with her friend as he had expressed unhappiness over her presence at a friend’s marriage. An argument between the two ensued after which she might have decided to take her own life.
As per the official at Petbasheerabad Police Station, “We don’t have any confirmation that she committed suicide while the video call was on. However, she had spoken with her friend on video call before resorting to the extreme step. Her friend told us that the victim had said that she would hang herself. He also told us that he saw her hanging.”
The police said that the victim’s parents have registered a complaint regarding the matter and that the probe in the same, is on. Last month, a 20-year-old boy reportedly committed suicide on a WhatsApp video call with his girlfriend. The youth, who belonged to Patna, had shot himself dead in his house over an altercation over his relationship with his girlfriend.
