Husband-wife disputes are quite common, but it becomes a problem when it reaches the stage of harassment. Among all the rape cases, domestic abuse and violence against women that gets reported, a lot of husbands too have to face abuse. A majority of violence against the males goes underreported. It has now occurred that Bhopal in MP ranks second in cases of abuse and harassment against the husbands. The first is the city of Indore. From January to April, there have 52 instances of harassment of husbands in Bhopal. The issue comes to light after the Dial 100 team made a separate category of Beating Husband event! It was created to separate from the domestic violence category. And the cases of husband beating are only on the rise. If calculated, it would not be wrong to say that husbands get beaten by their wives every second day in Bhopal!  The data produced is only from the state of Madhya Pradesh.

In December, the Dial 100 team made different categories of husband beating and wife beating. The results have been shocking because the State level team has registered 772 cases of husbands who suffered beatings in their house. Out of these almost 74 men are from the city of Indore. Till now these cases were reported under the domestic violence category and it was assumed that only women suffered from the abuse.

In the state of Madhya Pradesh, there have been 22,000 cases of beatings from the wife in just four months! Indore has the most number of cases, ranking it in the first one in such cases. 1546 women have reported cases of domestic abuse against them from Bhopal. There have been more cases of women abuse from cities of Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Chindwada.

Along with the beating cases, the other complaints are of family disputes, dowry, eve-teasing, robbery, betting, road accidents. The Dial 100 helpline was started in MP in the year 2015. While earlier about 3000 women used to call with complaints now, the graph has risen. The State level control room gets more than 25000 calls every day. These statistics bring to light the issue of men too suffering from domestic violence and that also in such large numbers.
