Kasauli, May 10: An employee of the Himachal Pradesh public works department (PWD), Gulab Singh who was injured in the shooting in Kasauli on May 1, when a guesthouse owner Vijay Singh killed a woman government officer Shailbala Sharma, suffered a cardiac arrest. The PWD employee has been put on a ventilator. The hotel owner fired at the officer in rage during a demolition drive of illegal constructions.
According to a report published in Hindustan Times, Singh’s condition is unstable. His colleague in the PWD Narain Singh said that the 46-year-old was doing much better for the past two days. However, he suddenly suffered a cardiac attack while changing his bed in one of the emergency wards at the hospital on Thursday morning.
A doctor of the hospital told Hindustan Times, “He is not stable at all at the moment and isn’t even responding. We’ll have to wait it out for a bit to see how things progress. He is under observation,”
Gulab Singh was admitted to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) after he was hit by a bullet just a few inches below his heart. Shailbala was shot dead by Vijay Singh, the owner of a guesthouse in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district after she tried to demolish an illegal structure Vijay Singh who fled from the spot, was arrested from Mathura two days later.
The Supreme Court last month had ordered the demolition of unauthorised constructions at several hotels and resorts built in violation of sanctioned plans in Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh.
