Heavy Rainfall & Storm in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan & Other Northern States of India Claims Several Lives

More than 90 people have been reported to be dead, and several were left injured after a high-intensity dust storm hit parts of Uttar Pradesh and thunderstorm and rainfall affected in Rajasthan. According to a Times of India report, in Uttar Pradesh, the high-intensity dust storm left 64 people dead and 160 injured.
Agra saw the highest casualties with 43 people, including children. Nine others died in other parts of the state including Bijnaur, Saharanpur and Bareilly. On the same day, in Rajasthan, around least 27 people died, and more than a 100 were injured as strong winds, and dust storms hit Alwar, Bharatpur and Dholpur districts. The maximum hit was Alwar as the entire district plunged into darkness after the power department stopped electricity supply when poles fell snapping power cables.
