Passengers of the GoAir flight alleged that the captain of the aircraft had threatened to crash the Bengaluru-bound flight. According to The Times of India, GoAir has refuted the allegations in a statement.
The resentful travellers shot the videos of the pilots as they were walking towards the plane. When the pilots objected being clicked, angry passengers told them that they would put the videos on social media. TOI quoted an anonymous source saying, “One passenger went inside Airbus A-320 and told other flyers that the pilot had threatened to crash the plane if the videos were put on social media. This led to scare in the plane and demands for the crew to be changed.” But the administers of the flight made clear that the pilots will not be replaced. Resulting to which, three passengers chose to walk off the plane.
The report further confirmed that GoAir’s G8 113 was scheduled to take off at 05:50 am but it got delayed due to which the passengers got furious. One of the passenger was quoted in the same saying, “Till 7 am, we kept waiting in the aircraft to take off. There was no announcement and many passengers got angry and started shouting.” Meanwhile, the pilot apologised on the public announcement system to the commuters and informed that there was miscommunication; cited that he was late due to administrative issues. The plane finally took off at 08:40 am and landed Bengaluru at 11:20 am.
However, GoAir disagreed to the incident and reported, “GoAir strongly refutes any such allegation. After conducting due diligence and injury into the matter, (we) have ascertained that no such statement has been made by the Captain and this has been corroborated by ground and on-board staff. Of the checked-in 185 (passengers) and two infants, the flight finally departed with 182 and two infants.” Further, the report did not mention the date of the alleged incident.
