The State government of Hyderabad has introduced a new move which will be a major relief to the public. From April 1, there will be no parking charge for the first 30 minutes in commercial establishments which includes malls and multiplexes. At present, the parking fees in these shopping complexes are huge and serve a great way for owners to take out money from the consumers. Irrespective of the duration, the fees charged are same. The new move will let you park free, for longer if you are able to produce bills for the duration. Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), Principal Secretary, Arvind Kumar issued the orders on March 20 and will come in effect from the next month.

The order also states that no parking fee will be collected from a person above 30 minutes and up to 1 hour if the person produces a bill to any amount as a  proof of shopping in the respective shopping mall or multiplex. Also if the person has parked for more than an hour but produces a bill that is more than the parking fee, then too you need not pay the parking fees. So basically if you go for a movie and your ticket cost is more than the parking charge then you can get your parking free.

The building rules state, an adequate number of off-street parking spaces have to be made by the owners of the commercial establishments, shopping malls, multiplexes to meet the demand generated by their employees and visitors. But the owners were collecting huge parking fees, despite the duration or purpose of visit. That's why to regularise the parking fees and also prevent misuse by outsiders in the parking space, the new rules have been got into effect. So if you are in for a quick visit to the mall or even for a movie but if you can produce the bills for the stipulated time then you can get a relief from the parking fees.
