Mumbai, March 28: Forbes on Tuesday announced its third annual “30 Under 30 Asia” list, featuring 300 young disruptors, innovators and entrepreneurs across Asia. Ace shuttler PV Sindhu, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, Indian national Polo team captain Padmanabh Singh, cricketer Smriti Mandhana are among the top Indian personalities who have managed to get a spot on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018 list. It must be noted that all the personalities featured in the list are under the age of 30.
29-year-old Indian actress Anushka Sharma is the only one among the B-Town celebrities who made it to the list. As per reports, Sharma is also one of the highest-paid actress in the Indian film industry. 3 atheletes cracked the list for their contribution in the field of sports, among them, Padmanabh Singh, who is the youngest ever member of a World Cup polo team and was also the youngest ever to win the Indian Open Polo Cup. P.V. Sindhu and Smriti Mandhana is also there in the list for bagging numerous laurels in the badminton and cricket category respectively.
Coming to the startup sector, 26-year-old Ankit Prasadis, the Bobble Keyboard co-creator along with his co-founder Mohd Wassem made it to the list. The duo claim that their app has garnered around 10 million downloads till date.
In the social sector, Shriyans Bhandari (23) and Ramesh Dhami (22) made it to the list for putting an end to India’s huge footwear shortage, by “recycling discarded shoes into wearable footwear for children. Ria Sharma also features in this list for her initiative 'Make Love Not Scars', a rehabilitation centre providing rehabilitation services for Indian acid attack survivors.
Some of the other names in the list are, 23-year old Suhani Jalota for her work in the women empowerment space, through her organisation, Nishant Chopra, who founded Oshadi, Rahul Gayam, CTO of Gayam Motor Works, along with his brother, Raja, Tarn Mehta and Swapnil Jain, founders of Ather Energy, Bala Sarda, the 26-year-old founder and CEO of Vahdam Teas.
The Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia Class of 2018 includes 30 honorees in 10 categories. The categories are The Arts (Art & Style, Food & Drink); Entertainment & Sports; Finance & Venture Capital; Media, Marketing & Advertising; Retail & E-commerce; Enterprise Technology; Industry, Manufacturing & Energy; Healthcare & Science; Social Entrepreneurs and Consumer Technology.
