Festive Season Trains: Indian Railways Announces Special Trains for Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali; Check Schedule Here
With the festive season just about to set in, the Indian Railways has made all necessary arrangements to provide passengers with a hassle-free travel during the upcoming festivals - Durga Puja, Dusshera, Diwali and Chhath Puja.
New Delhi, October 4: In a bid to clear the extra rush during the festive season, the Indian Railways has announced some special trains for its passengers. With the festive season just about to set in, the Indian Railways has made all necessary arrangements to provide passengers with a hassle-free travel during the upcoming festivals - Durga Puja, Dusshera, Diwali and Chhath Puja. Reports inform that the Railways have begun operating special trains from Bathinda in Punjab, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar, Nangaldam, Saharanpur, Jammu, Delhi, Vaishno Devi and Chandigarh railway stations to rest of the parts of the country.
According to a report by Financial Express, the Bathinda-Varanasi – Bathinda Weekly Express train will make 12 trips in total. The report stated that train number 04998 Bathinda-Varanasi weekly express will depart from Bathinda at 8:50 PM every Sunday from 14 October to 18 November to reach Varanasi at 7:20 PM the next day while in its return journey, train number 04997 Varanasi – Bathinda weekly express will depart from Varanasi at 9:20 PM on every Monday from 15 October to 19 November to reach Bathinda at 7:00 PM the next day. The Jammu Tawi-Pathankot-Jammu Tawi DEMU will make 50 trips. The train number 04992 Jammu Tawi – Pathankot DEMU will depart from Jammu Tawi at 9:50 AM except for Saturday and Sunday from October 15 to November 16 and will depart from Pathankot at 2:45 PM except for Saturday and Sunday from November 15 to November 16, to reach Jammu Tawi at 5:15 PM the same day.
The Delhi Junction-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Delhi Junction Train will make 32 trips. Reports inform that train number 04409 Delhi Junction-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Special train will depart from Delhi at 6:25 PM every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday from October 16 to November 20 and will depart from Katra at 1:30 PM every Wednesday, Saturday, and Monday from October 17 to November 21 to arrive Delhi at 3:00 AM the next day.
Meanwhile, the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Lucknow-Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly AC Express will make 10 trips in total. Train number 04420 Hazrat Nizamuddin –Lucknow Weekly AC Express will leave from Hazrat Nizamuddin at 8:50 PM every Monday from October 15 to November 12 and will depart from Lucknow at 6:50 PM on every Thursday from October 18 to November 15 to reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 5:10 AM the next day.
Another Express train, the Anand Vihar Terminal-Lucknow-Anand Vihar Terminal Weekly AC Express will make 10 trips. The report informs that train number 04422 Anand Vihar Terminal –Lucknow Weekly AC Express will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 9:05 PM every Wednesday from 17 October to 14 November to reach Lucknow at 5:40 AM the next day and will depart from Lucknow at 6:50 PM every Tuesday from October 16 to November 13 to reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 4:55 AM the next day.
According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, the Indian Railways is likely to have 230 trips of these special festive trains and is believed to generate 2.61 lakh number of new seats.
