Kolkata, April 9: An explosion was reported on Kolkata's Dum Dum cantonment railway line on Monday. At least ten crude bombs have been recovered at the spot of the explosion. As per reports, one person has been critically injured. As per details by the Police, soon after the explosion took place, the railway police rushed to the spot to take a stock of the situation.

On Monday, Police had recovered a dead shell from an under-construction tunnel of the East-West Metro project near Kadapara area. According to details by a senior official, a team of police personnel from Beliaghata police station along with Kolkata Police bomb disposal squad reached the spot and recovered the dead shell from beside the rail tracks.

According to a PTI report, an official said that some construction workers discovered the shell while digging the ground there inside the tunnel. “There was a huge tension after the shell was unearthed as people there took it as a live grenade planted by some miscreants. It's a dead shell and we have recovered it," the officer said.
