Manali, June 14: An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 hit the Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday afternoon. No casualties have been reported so far. More details on the same are awaited.

Earlier today, an earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter Scale hit hill state Uttarakhand. The quake was reported at Uttarkashi district at 6.12 am on Thursday morning. According to details by IMD, the depth of the earthquake was 10 km. No loss to life or property has been reported.

Reports inform that the quake hit the hill state at a time when the Weather Office has predicted thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds at places across Uttarakhand.

Earlier this week,  a 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck Assam and its adjoining areas. There was no report of any damage or injury after the earthquake hit Assam. The epicentre of the quake was reported to be in Dhing.
