Driving Licences for Students to Be Issued from Colleges and Educational Institutes in Delhi - Report

With the new project from Delhi Goverment, Driving Licence now can be issued from Colleges and Educational Institutes.

To make the driving licence more accessible to students, the transport department of Delhi has issued a notification wherein the colleges, and educational institutes will be authorised to conduct tests and issue learner’s licences to their students. The announcement from the Transport Department came after Delhi Government took this decision for reducing a load of driving schools as well as Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) in the National Capital Territory, Delhi. With the implementation of this new project from the Delhi government, young students will be able to apply for driving licences in various institutes and colleges at Acharya Narendra Dev College, G.B Pant Institute of Technology, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies and ITI Pusa.

As per the media reports, it is believed that two colleges in Delhi have already started issuing learner’s licence test and two more colleges are expected to commence this process this week, once the admission process is finished. Soon, more than 10 Delhi Universities’ certified colleges will initiate issuance of learner’s licence in some months.
