Dr. BR Ambedkar Jayanti Greetings & Wishes: PM Modi, President Kovind Lead Tributes on Social Reformer's 127th Birth Anniversary!
The architect of India's Constitution, Dr Ambedkar once said, “I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved.”
Mumbai, April 14: India will celebrate Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, on Saturday, as it will mark his 127th birth anniversary. Known popularly as the Father of Indian Constitution, BR Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. As India celebrates the birthday of the social reformer, today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and President Ram Nath Kovind paid rich tributes through their Twitter account. Along with the PM and the President, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley greeted the nation on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti too.
As India and its people celebrate the iconic figure’s 127th birth anniversary on April 14, here’s what the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind and other Ministers said.

3. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, “Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution of India, was a great political icon, social reformer, and jurist. On his birth anniversary, we remember this great son of India and pay him our respectful tribute.”

There were widespread protests across the country in recent weeks by several Dalit organisation, which saw Bharat Bandh take place. Scores of people lost their lives and thousands were injured as the protests turned violent in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Rajasthan amongst other states.
Dr BR Ambedkar is one of the most revered figures in Indian history. Ambedkar’s contribution to the lower-class and backwards-class people was impeccable. Credited to be the architect of Indian Constitution, Dr Ambedkar had once famously quoted, “I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved.”
