Mumbai, October 8: The Indian Railways has released a list of special trains that will run during Diwali festival in November. The booking for one of the special Diwali trains - 09561/09562 between Bandra in Mumbai and Okha in Gujarat - has begun today. These two trains will run from October 30 to November 20, easing the passenger rush during the Diwali festival.

Train number 09561, which is a weekly superfast special train, will leave Bandra Terminus at 11:55 pm on every Wednesday and will arrive at Okha at 5:35 pm on Thursday during the above mentioned period. Train number 09562 will leave Okha at 5:00 pm every Tuesday and will arrive at Bandra Terminus at 10:15 am on Wednesday during the festive season. Festive Season Trains: Indian Railways Announces Special Trains for Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali; Check Schedule Here.

The special train will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Nadiad, Ahmedabad, Viramgam, Surendra Nagar, Wankaner, Rajkot, Hapa, Jamnagar, Khambalia and Dwarka stations in both directions. The Indian Railways has planned to have 230 trips of these special festive trains and is believed to generate 2.61 lakh number of new seats.

MSRTC to Run Nearly 10,000 Additional Buses For Diwali

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has planned to run additional buses during the festival of Diwali. A total of 9320 additional buses will be run for Diwali from November 1 to November 20. From Mumbai, 114 additional buses will be operated from November 1 and will continue until November 20.
