Mumbai, October 21: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will conduct the Diwali Muhurat Trading session on the occasion of Diwali on November 1. The Diwali Muhurat Trading session will mark the beginning of the Hindu Calendar year Samvat 2081. Ahead of the "Muhurat Trading" session, both stock exchanges said that the symbolic trading session would be held between 6 PM and 7 PM on Friday, November 1.
When and What Time Is Diwali Muhurat Trading?
The Muhurat Trading session marks the commencement of a new Samvat. It is believed that trading during this auspicious hour, or "Muhurat", brings prosperity and financial growth to investors and traders. This year, Diwali will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31, with the special window for Muhurta Trading being held on the next day, i.e. Friday, November 1. NSE to Conduct Diwali Muhurat Trading on November 1.
The special window for the Deepawali Muhurat Trading will be held from 6 PM to 7 PM on November 1. Having said that, the stock market will remain closed for regular trading on Diwali 2024. The BSE and NSE said that the special trading window will be open for one hour on Deepawali. They also said that the pre-opening session will take place from 5:45 PM to 6:00 PM.
During the Diwali Muhura Trading session, trading takes place in several segments, including equity, commodity derivatives, currency derivatives, securities lending and borrowing (SLB), etc. "A special live trading session shall be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 on account of Muhurt trading on Diwali," the NSE said.
