Mumbai, August 28: In a major move to ease the document verification process in their recruitment process, the Indian Railways has now integrated DigiLocker, a digital document wallet launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The integration of DigiLocker in the Indian Railways' hiring portal is expected to reduce recruitment time from the current 18-24 months to less than six months, which will be a massive improvement.

The optimum use of DigiLocker on the Indian Railways' recruitment portal would allow the Railways job aspirants to easily submit their documents without the hassle of dealing with paperwork. Moreover, the integration of DigiLocker is not limited to document verification only. It will also encompass issuing calls for medical check-ups and appointment letters through DigiLocker. Thus, the integration will reduce recruitment time and minimise instances of fake documents from applicants.
