Mumbai, June 03: In a brittle war of words on the political front; did the senior Indian National Congress (INC) leader, Mallikarjun Kharge, just likened the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government to a dog? Well, it is for you to decide. However, his choice of words does signals his anger towards the Narendra Modi-led government is at a threshold.
Kharge said that the current government in the Centre is a barking government. The senior Congress leader compared United Progressive Alliance- UPA) government to the incumbent government and said that maybe this was the reason our government was called ‘deaf’ and ‘silent’.
Launching a scathing attack on the Centre, Kharge said that one should compare the farm loan waiver under both, NDA and UPA governments. He said that his government never indulged in publicity and worked silently.
Giving a media byte to ANI, the senior Congressman said, “Compare the farm loan waiver under NDA & UPA government. We never indulged in publicity. We used to work & stay quiet. Maybe that's why they used to call us 'mauni' & 'goongi' government. Present government is a barking government, but doesn't do anything.”

All seemed well with Kharge’s statement until his tongue slipped and he made the barking comment. Well, did he actually compare the current government to that of a dog or not is for the senior Congressman to clarify. However, his statement would surely rattle a few (read: many) sitting in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) camp.
