New Delhi, May 11: Delhi Police has registered a case against unidentified persons for pasting controversial posters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. The posters which were found pasted on a wall in Mandir Marg’s J-Block area on Thursday called the PM Modi ‘The Lie Lama’.

The similar type of posters were also found pasted in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar and Shanker Road areas. According to Delhi Police, the posters were removed and a case was registered under the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act last evening. The police will also question people living near places where the posters were found to ascertain the identity of the people behind the act.

These posters have been going viral for many days on social media. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have also objected to such posters. There is no name or address of any press or printing agency on the poster. The police are searching CCTV footage and trying to find out those who are posters.

The posters cropped up at the time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being criticised on social media for making factually incorrect statements during the campaigning of Karnataka assembly elections. The Prime Minister during his campaign in Karnataka said that the Congress leaders did not visit Bhagat Singh in jail in 1929, but the Congress countered PM Modi’s statement by referring to historical documents that Jawahar Lal Nehru and other senior leader had visited Bhagat Singh in jail.
