Delhi, North India Enveloped in Dense Fog, Train Services Hit Badly Due to Low Visibility

On Wednesday, at least 32 were trains arriving late, 2 were rescheduled and 22 were being cancelled in Delhi due to low visibility and operational reasons.

New Delhi, January 31:  Dense fog and cold weather conditions continued to envelop the national capital on Wednesday, resulting in poor visibility.  Severe fog conditions affected train services and caused inconvenience to commuters on Wednesday. At least 32 were trains arriving late, 2 were rescheduled and 22 were being cancelled in Delhi due to low visibility and operational reasons. The temperature in the national capital was recorded to be 12 degree Celsius on Wednesday.

On Sunday, the temperature dipped as low as 6.4 degrees in Delhi, as a cold wave hit North India in Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. According to a report by ANI, the temperature in the northern part of India will remain low as the region has been witnessing dense fog and severe cold conditions since the past week.  The air quality also remains to be 'very unhealthy', with the Air Quality Index (AQI) hovering around 225 to 164. Delhi's Anand Vihar area recorded 227 AQI, which was the highest, while the minimum was recorded in Shadipur area.

On Tuesday, at least 35 trains arrived late, while 10 were cancelled due to dense fog in Delhi and neighbouring regions in north India. About five trains have also been rescheduled. The met department forecast predicts a minimum temperature of 7 degrees in the national capital and a maximum temperature of 24 degrees. On Sunday, the temperatures dipped as low as 6.4 degrees in Delhi, as a cold wave hit North India in Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
