The air quality in Delhi and parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) has remained poor over the past few days. The reason behind the city's poor air quality is dust storms from Rajasthan, said the environment ministry after the air quality in Delhi deteriorated beyond severe level.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal also ordered not to carry out any civil construction activities across the city between June 15 and 17 to bring down the severe dust pollution in the wake of the poor air quality over Delhi earlier.
The civic body was asked to intensify the mechanical sweeping of streets as part of measures. People have been advised to stay indoors.
