Delhi Dentist Bites and Burns 14-year Old Domestic Help, Arrested: Girl Rescued by DCW

New Delhi, 14 January:  A 14-year old domestic helper was going through hell in a dentist’s house Model Town’s Kalyan Vihar in north-west Delhi. The girl has now been rescued from her employer who inflicted her with much violence. The girl’s body has bite marks and burns injuries. She was beaten too badly. The employer Nidhi Chaudhary, has been arrested. An FIR has also been registered in the matter under sections pertaining to “causing hurt” and Bonded Labour Act.

The girl is now under the care and protection of the child welfare committee and Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) counsellors. She is primarily from Jharkhand and now the DCW members are trying to trace her family. A neighbor of Chaudhary had called their helpline 181, bringing the case to light.

The DCW chief Swati Maliwal tweeted the girl’s condition, informing about the incident.

In another series of tweets, she mentioned the girl was locked in the house and not even paid any money. “A doctor herself, how could she torture a 14-year-old in such a brutal manner. The little girl was confined to house, not given sweater, food and has been reduced to bones. Police arrested lady employer! Should be given maximum punishment!” she added in her tweets.

The condition of the girl is really weak as she wasn’t even given any food by her employer. The pictures shared by the chief show the gruesome torture she had to face in that house. There are marks on her face and blackened skin. Her hands also have burn marks. It is actually shocking how a doctor subjected the domestic help to such amounts of torture and beating. The police are now investigating into the matter further.
