New Delhi, June 20: Brother of self-styled godman Daati Maharaj who was called for questioning by Delhi Police's Inter-State Cell Crime branch for questioning in the rape case against Daati Maharaj, appeared for the questioning today and was seen at the Police's Inter-State Cell Crime branch in Delhi today.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the self-styled godman Daati Maharaj, who is accused of raping a disciple in his ashrams in Delhi and Rajasthan, joined the probe and was questioned by Delhi Police for over seven hours, the police said. On June 17, Daati Maharaj got into a fresh trouble after reports emerged of about 600 girls going missing from his ashram. Reports informed that the girls have gone missing from the godman's ashram in Rajasthan's Alawas, with only 100 girls remaining there. The godman has already been accused of rape by a 25-year-old woman.
Daati Maharaj had himself claimed that his ashram is home to more than 700 girls. But when the police tried to ascertain the claim, they could reach nowhere to the number given by the self-proclaimed guru. The police is now trying to ascertain the whereabouts of the girls and the inquiry is ongoing.
