New Delhi, March 28: Amid protests over Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 Mathematics and Class 12 Economics paper leak, the Delhi Police Crime Branch on Thursday informed that a total of 25 people have been questioned so far. Police further said that two cases have been registered in the matter and that no person has been arrested so far.

RP Upadhyay, Special Commissioner of Police, Delhi was quoted by ANI saying that both the papers were leaked on WhatsApp a day before the exam.  “We are trying to trace the trail of paper leak. One private tutor was named by CBSE in their complaint, he has been interrogated”, RP Upadhyay added.

In wake of reports claiming paper leaks, the CBSE had announced re-examination yesterday for the two papers. The Delhi police on Thursday arrested a man allegedly involved in the leak of CBSE's Class XII Economics and Class X Maths question papers. The man- identified as Vicky runs a coaching institute at Sector 8, Rajinder Magar in Delhi. According to a PTI report, a complaint was received by the CBSE on 23rd March 2018 from an unknown source who had also claimed two schools in Rajinder Nagar were also involved in the question papers' leakage.

Hundreds of students gathered near Jantar Mantar in the national capital and held protests against the re-examination of Class 10 Mathematics and Class 12 Economics papers. They held placards, with slogans like 'Stop playing hit and trial with our lives' and 'It's not the students who need a retest, it's the system', the students rued how they have been left "traumatised" after hearing the news of re-examination, PTI reported.

Reports state that many students claimed that almost all the papers had been leaked a day before the examinations and demanded that if a reexamination is to be held, it should be held for all the subjects.

Union minister Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said that the leak of question papers was a "stain" on the CBSE. He assured that the government is tackling the issue and the culprits would not be spared. Speaking to media, Javadekar said the Central Board will take a call on the fresh exam dates soon and an "announcement will be made by Monday or Tuesday".
